Donation given to school today !

Today (Monday 10th October), Wendy and Belinda presented Mrs Revill with a cheque for  £ 7000, which was raised by all the Friends (parents, staff and other members of the local community) during the academic year 2015/16. Mrs Revill said that this was a great achievement and she is very happy to be able to use it to fund the new nature garden, help towards refurbishing the school library, the Year 6 DARE project and also more subsidies for travel on trips and visits for the pupils. Thanks to everyone who has come to events, helped with the organisation and of course, volunteered some time to make it all happen on the day / night.

Please come along to the AGM for the Friends of College House. This is our meeting once a year where we report on activities and fundraising. We agree a donation to give to the school and then appoint the Committee members (who are also the Trustees) for the next academic year.

If you would like to attend but are late arriving, please call 07729 359 239 (Wendy) to get let into the school as we will be meeting upstairs and won’t hear you at the door.

What a great time was had by all !! 62 people to total came to the first ever joint fundraising quiz for Meadow Lane and College House. We enjoyed a very tasty school chilli dinner, complete with lemon sponge, cornflake cake or ice-cream, followed by 8 rounds of questions based on the school curriculum. Head Master for the evening, Colin Munton, kept everyone in order, in firm but fair style. The “swotty” teachers actually won (by one point) but generously donated their prize to the runners up team. Thanks very much to Haveli (Attenborough Road) for the meal for 4 prize. A fantastic total of £ 355.90 was made for both schools, which we hope will be topped up by Experian with £ 250. Thank you very much to our Committee member Belinda Hughes, for organising it with Clare Chapman, who coordinates the fundraising for Meadow Lane.
